Hello,
It is nice to “meet” you. I am Dawn, and I invite you to learn more about me and my advising philosophy. I have served as an academic advisor since June 2013. In November 2022, I transitioned into advising leadership and hope that I can share my heart for serving students with those around me.
I have advising experience with every level, but doctoral, at a four-year Texas Public Institution of Higher Education.
My experience serving students challenges me to find new and creative ways to share information asynchronously.
For Learners: I hope this will become a place to turn for helpful tips and information as you complete your program.
For Future ADL Students: I hope this place where I grew in my learning journey will serve as an example and guide as you progress through this life-changing program. You will develop and learn more than ever imagined as you go through the Applied Digital Learning program if you embrace the opportunity before you.
For Colleagues: This is a place I hope to consolidate and share my professional growth, learning, and contributions to the advising profession. I would love to collaborate with you on more ways to impact advising in a positive way.
I rarely get to attend conferences with my professional organizations, but through this portfolio, these situations can overcome time and distance. I intend to use this space to help bridge any gaps in our overlapping virtual worlds.
