Holds

There are a variety of hold types that can be added to a students account during the duration of their academic program.

Mandatory Advising Holds

Mandatory Advisement holds are put on all student accounts upon acceptance. Students in Online Graduate Education programs do not need to schedule an advising appointment. The advising hold will be removed once you have been fully accepted by your academic department and cleared for enrollment. For any questions, please review I’ve applied, now what?

Admissions Holds

Admissions holds often originate from pending final official transcripts or prior degree awards. Students may apply and be accepted with an in-progress semester and the final transcript is needed to clear the admission requirement once complete. For any questions regarding this type of hold, please contact LU Online Admissions.

Past Due Balance Holds

Cashiering holds are added to a students account as the result of a balance owed to the university. Past due balance holds can be the result of unpaid balances or returned financial aid awards due to eligibility changes. For any questions regarding this type of hold, please contact the Cashier’s Office.

Graduation Hold

Once a student applies to graduate a graduating senior hold is added to the account to indicate completing additional coursework will require a new updated university application. If you intend to complete more coursework you will need to reapply for that major/program at www.goapplytexas.org.
