Welcome to ADL!

ADL is an abbreviation for the Masters in Education Applied Digital Learning program. The ADL program is completed in as little as one year, by taking two courses simultaneously in eight-week sessions.

All students interested in the ADL program should review the corresponding section of Dr. Harapnuik’s portfolio.

I was the professional staff advisor for the ADL program within the University’s enrollment office from June 2021 to November 2022. I handled mandatory advising holds and registration while assisting students with degree plan completion-related questions. Students also have program faculty who assist with curricular inquiries, program specifics requirements, and other related certification questions.

I enrolled students each semester according to the ADL course schedule/course rotation.

The course rotation can be difficult to interpret so I will do my best to explain how to use this tool. On the course rotation locate the starting date from the college acceptance email and match it to the leftmost column.

ADL students complete the first course EDLD 5305, Disruptive Innovation in Education, along with one of the first rotation courses [EDLD 5303 Applying Educational Technology Portfolio or EDLD 5302 Concepts of Educational Technology] depending upon their starting session date in their first eight-week session.

Moving over one column and down one-row, students complete the their first rotation courses and the second rotation courses.

In a student’s second two eight-week session either EDLD 5302 Concepts of Educational Technology and EDLD 5304 Leading Organizational Change or EDLD 5303 Applying Educational Technology Portfolio and EDLD 5313 Creating Significant Learning Environments will be completed (again depending upon their starting session date).

Students then move through the rotating group of four courses (EDLD 5389 Developing Effective Professional Learning, EDLD 5317 Resources for Digital Environments, and EDLD 5315 Assessing Digital Learning and Instruction) in subsequent eight-week sessions.

The final course of the program is EDLD 5320 Synthesis of Digital Learning and Leadership.

As an alternative option to program completion students can request one course each eight-week session to “opt-out” of this accelerated option by contacting the enrollment office to request a modified path to program completion before the first-class day.

The Educational Leadership Department and University provide course descriptions and past syllabi for review; however, Dr. Harapnuik’s Program Map will likely be most helpful.
