Collaborations

My experience in the ADL program may be slightly different than other students. I am not participating in the accelerated option by taking two courses simultaneously in eight-week semesters. Instead, I am completing one course in each eight-week session. Instead of completing ten classes yearly, I will complete five classes yearly. Opting out of the accelerated option means I cannot maintain the same learning community group members from session to session. In some ways, I think this is a good thing; in other ways, it is a challenge. I get to collaborate with more individuals and benefit from more perspectives, but I have to restart the trust-building phase of group membership each session. I am so grateful for the perspectives of my learning communities and classmates. I am inspired by each of the students who find themselves bringing world-revolutionizing changes to the world through their innovation projections and ePortfolios.

ADL Cohort Collective

Join the ADL Collective to see if there are still ADL Alumni active in the community. We all hope to remain supportive of those ADL students to follow.

The new learning culture taught me the power of collectives, allowing learners to drop in and out of learning communities based on interest and availability. My favorite form of support comes from the ADL Cohort Collective [formerly known as ADL 2021-2023] Group chat, which we have been growing over the last few semesters. The support and collaboration in our cohort foster a safe place to question and grow.

These wonderful people are my lifeline throughout the program. We always hold open-invite discussions and jump online after class whenever someone needs support.

It is truly transformative what we have been able to create together.

Once again, the power of our learning collective was shown when our instructor was forced to cancel class last minute due to a hurricane in their area. Our classmates were all online and ready to meet, so we just made a quick pivot and held our own meeting so that we could continue moving forward and collaborate for an upcoming assignment. Once again, it is so inspiring how much our group is dedicated to this learning process and one another.

Fall 2022 – EDLD 5313 CSLE Course Collective

The true power of the collective was shown one evening when our instructor lost power. Our class just kept on meeting and discussing the material for an hour. This group of learners is dedicated to this learning process and one another.

Our group has been so great at rallying together when we need support. We have members who are in the first two or three courses of the program and members that are one or two sessions away from graduation. It is a true inspiration to watch the collective unfold.

With a common member, Jasmin, Patrick, and I also have a great collaboration group chat. Jasmin is highly motivated and pushes us to stay on top of everything. Patrick and I often chat in groups or individually as we work through different stages of our learning process.

EDLD 5313

My core support members this semester have been Kristin and Patrick. Everyone has been so transparent and vulnerable throughout this process that it pushed us to refine and improve our work. We have used the course mail as our primary means of collaboration in our three-member group.

I appreciate that I am still learning and collaborating with members from previous courses. Bethany has been great at joining in zoom sessions or adding a clarifying conversation about an assignment throughout every course we’ve had together.

Ashleigh is an absolute lifesaver in that she will always ask questions, provide feed-forward, and is just a refreshingly authentically honest individual.

Ashleigh has been such a consistent collaborator these past several sessions. I cannot wait to meet her at graduation!
