Welcome Future Nurses

The Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree begins for each future nurse as a Bachelor of University Studies Health Sciences major with a Pre-Nursing concentration. The Health Sciences degree plan, when paired with the pre-nursing concentration, allows students to complete the pre-admission requirements needed to be eligible to apply to the School of Nursing. Students typically complete 16 hours per semester or five classes each long semester. Students may opt to complete 12-13 hours or four classes each long semester if they complete at least 6 hours in the summer.

The final course a student will complete is Pathophysiology, which will likely be in progress during the application process.

I was the professional staff advisor for the pre-admission advising (formerly known as pre-nursing advisor) within the University’s undergraduate advising office from 2013 to 2019. I handled mandatory advising holds and registration while assisting students with degree plan completion-related questions.

I enrolled students each semester according to the BSN Curriculum Plan.

Note: Last update to online PDF/source document shows this Fall 2022 – Theories in Nursing is no longer required, MATH 1314 is now MATH 1313 Mathematics for Allied Health. [As of 06/27/2025]
